Christopher Collins of Folsom, California passed away Thursday, March 7, 2024. Christopher was born in Sacramento, California to Veronica and James Collins on December 30, 1983. He was raised in Folsom and graduated from Folsom High School. He later attended San Francisco State University and earned a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry.
Christopher was employed by Sutter Health in San Francisco for several years performing cancer research functions, prior to returning to Folsom and securing employment with the State of California Department of Pesticide Regulation as a Senior Environmental Scientist. Christopher traveled state-wide to set up and install pesticide air monitoring equipment, including training agricultural pesticide air monitoring procedures to both local and distant county staff teams.
Christopher enjoyed fast cars; his father and Christopher building a 1966 supercharged V8 Mustang together as a senior high school project. Later, Christopher became interested in faster motorcycles for transportation and sport.
Christopher Collins leaves behind his parents Veronica and James Collins, and younger sister Charlene Asmussen, married to Joel Asmussen of Santa Ynez, California. Christopher passed away single, never marring, or having offspring of his own.
Christopher was also a beloved uncle to Alani and Sutter.
Christopher will be laid to rest at Lompoc Cemetery on March 20th beside his father and mother upon their future passing. No funeral or graveside services will be held. Visitation is scheduled for family and close friends on March 19th at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, Christopher would prefer that you give to the charity of your choice.

We are incredibly sorry to hear this news. Chris was a great friend in high school and college. He was so kind, smart, and funny, and he will be greatly missed. We treasure our memories with him and send the family our condolences.

Whenever I go over to hang out with Charlene, before or after karate, Chris was always ALWAYS in the driving smiling working on a car.
