Charles Shore Obituary

Hamptonville

Mr. Charles William Shore, age 85, went home to be with the Lord on March 8, 2022. Charles was born in Yadkin County on January 15, 1937 to the late Lester and Nora Brooks Shore.  He was also preceded in death by his son, Charles Darin Shore; sisters, JoAnn Shaffner, Dorothy Stone, Carol Sloop; brothers, Kenneth Shore, Wayne Shore, and Gayle Shore.

Charles loved being outdoors and working on the farm with Aaron.  He enjoyed spending time with the grandchildren and taking them to the branch.  One of his favorite pastimes was mowing and no one could do it like he did!  He and Ola spent many days in the mountains enjoying the outdoors and listening to singing.  In his younger years, Charles loved to rabbit hunt.  Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 62+ years, Ola Mae Snow Shore; bonus children, Aaron Snow, Anna (Brandon) Hurd, Hope Branon; bonus grandchildren, Gavin Robbins, Grayson Hurd, Caroline Hurd, Jackson Hurd; sisters, Betty Reece, Joan Hinson, Brenda Stringer, Donna Goforth; and several special nieces & nephews.

The family is eternally grateful for the doctors and nurses at Iredell Memorial Hospital and for all of their loving care of Charles.  The family would also like to extend a very special thank you to Preacher Randy for all his calls, visits, and prayers 

A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 11, 2022 at 3 PM at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville with Rev. Randy Johnson and Rev. Bryan Boger officiating.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2 to 3 PM.  Burial will follow at Flat Rock Baptist Church in Hamptonville, NC.  Online condolences may be made to www.gentryfuneralservice.com.
