Celia Perez Obituary

Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend, CELIA ACOSTA PEREZ, age 92, lifelong resident of Las Cruces entered eternal life on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at La Posada-Mesilla Valley Hospice surrounded by her loved ones. She was born June 13, 1929 to Atenojenes and Juanita Guzman Acosta. Mrs. Perez was a Business Owner for many years until her retirement. She was a communicant at The Shrine and Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe and The Basilica de San Abino.

Those left to mourn her passing include her daughter, Priscilla Perez of Las Cruces; four sons, Ernesto Arzabal (Ana) of El Cajon, CA., Lucas Carlos Arzabal and Rueben Arzabal both of Las Cruces and Robert Arzabal of Los Angeles, CA., two sisters, Erlinda Flores and Helen Acosta both also of Las Cruces. Other survivors include numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Perez was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Roel Perez; a daughter, Sylvia Marie Arzabal; five brothers and two sisters.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 2 PM Friday, May 13, 2022 at the Basilica of San Albino, 2070 Calle de Santiago in Mesilla where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated immediately thereafter. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Tortugas Cemetery where she will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband in the family plot.

Serving as casket bearers will be her family and friends.
