Arnold Edward Johnson, age 92, of Toms River passed away on August 2, 2022.  He was born and raised in Staten Island and has lived in Toms River since the 1980’s.  Arnold was a heavy equipment operator for many years in New York; He was an active member in his Lutheran church, He loved aviation and was an expert and award-winning modeler, building and flying both model airplanes and model rockets.  He also loved music, playing a variety of instruments including guitar, mandolin, and organ.  His family was most important to him, and he loved spending time with them.

He is preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife, Elsie.

Surviving Arnold are his children Rev. Arnold E. Johnson Jr. and his wife Peggy, Major Dave Johnson, USAF and Kristen, and Barbara Siliato and her husband Michael; grandchildren, Jessica, Becca, A.J., Jason, Tom, Marin, and Evan; He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Amber, Joey, James, Summer, Malia, Kyle, and Alex.

A viewing for Arnold will be held on Friday August 5, 2022, from 10 am to 11:30 am at Weatherhead Young Funeral Home, 885 Mantoloking Road Brick, NJ 08723.  A funeral home service will be celebrated at 11:30 am.  Committal will take place following the service at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River, NJ.
