Annetta Seastrunk Obituary

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” - Romans 12:2

Annetta Hardin Brooks Seastrunk was born in Brookeland, Texas on May 19, 1938, to the late Sam Hardin and Caldonia Nelson.

Annetta united with The Church of the Living God in Brookeland at a young age. She was over the youth choir, a Sunday School teacher, and over the Mission Department. She later obtained her license to Pastor.

Annetta received her GED at the age of 42. Her various occupations included housekeeping, being a cook, and working in Home Health Care. Annetta had a deep love for animals. She enjoyed working in her yard and fishing. Annetta was active in her community. She served on the City Council and became Mayor Pro Tem for several years. She attended all school and after-school functions with her grandchildren in the Brookeland Community.

Annetta married John Conner Brooks, Jr., who preceded her in death, and they were wed for 17 years. To this union, 12 children were born: John Sherman Brooks (Linda), Helen Brooks, Doris Brooks, Howard Brooks, Felicia McNeal, Edward Brooks (Elaine), Tinacy Brooks, Kathie Brooks (Robert), Donise Brooks (Kala), Donna Brooks, Baptisa Brooks, David Andre Ray. (Samuel Brooks, Sr., and Paula Ann Brooks Meadows both preceded her in death.)

Later in life, Annetta met and married Billy Seastrunk, who preceded her in death.
Annetta was preceded in death by her siblings; sisters, Villa Mae Adams, Sarah Johnson; brothers, Robert Garrett (Rob), R.V. Garrett “Snakey”, Jetto Willis, LC Hardin, and George Washington Hardin.

She leaves to cherish her memory, 10 children, 36 grandchildren, 78 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great- grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

To the family, my prayers are with you. Ms. Annette was a very nice sweet lady. She always supported her kids and grandkids no matter what. She was always there to cheer them on. If she seen a kid acting up or doing wrong she would set them straight and didn't care who they belonged to. She will be missed not only by her family but by friends and people of our community. Fly high Ms. Anneta!!! Love Glenda Sepulvado

Our Father knows what's best for us so why should we complain We always want the sunshine, but he knows there must be rain We love the sound of laughter and the merriment of cheer, but our hearts would lose their tenderness if we never shed a tear be strong and stay together that is what Mother want
