Anna Hunt Obituary

Joanna Floyd Hunt, known to most as “Anna”, age 56, of Laurinburg, NC went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at Scotland Regional Hospital in Laurinburg., NC. Anna was born July 27, 1965 in Timmonsville, SC to the late Fredrick Leroy Floyd and the late Josephine Floyd Dawson.


Anna graduated from East Clarendon High School in Turbeville, SC and was a graduate of Robeson Community College in Lumberton, NC, receiving a degree in Computer Technology. She was employed by Railroad Friction Products in Laurinburg, NC for over twenty years. Anna was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church and the wife of a deacon, of which she took very seriously. She served in many capacities in the church throughout the years. She was an Assistant Sunday School Teacher, sang in the church choir, and was a member of the WMU for many years. Her love for music led her to direct the children’s drama team and she also was the craft teacher for VBS for many years. With the help of her husband and Sis. Angie, she directed many Easter and Christmas plays. Along with Pastor Ricky and Sis. Cookie she was co editor of two church directory's and created the church website. Anna also formed the Ladies Pot Luck Group that helped the ladies with their walk with the Lord. Her dedication to the church was proof that she loved the Lord and also her family.


Anna leaves to cherish her memories the love of her life, her husband of thirty-five years, Jeff Hunt of the home; two sons, Christopher Hunt of the home and Erin Hunt (Alyssa) of Laurinburg, NC; five grandchildren: Gage Lynn Hunt of the home and Nevaeh Rose Hunt, Gracelynn Brielle Hunt, Gabriel Luke Hunt, and Josiah Kade Hunt, all of Laurinburg, NC; four sisters: Rebecca DuPerry of Laurinburg, NC,  Vicki Parker of Liberty, SC, Scarlet Barnhill of Mountain City, TN, and Katie Holliday of Gray Court, SC; two brothers, Freddy Floyd of Turberville, SC and Lemuel Floyd of Morganton, NC;  and a great host of nieces, nephews, and special friends.


A walk-through visitation will be held on Sunday, October 3, 2021, from 12:00-2:30 PM at Floyd Funeral Services, 1549 Marion Stage Road in Fairmont, NC.


A graveside service will be held Sunday, October 3, 2021, at 3:00 PM at the Hunt Family Cemetery.

Anna, The void you left is great wide. But oh how the angels rejoiced as you made your grand entrance. Nothing or nobody will ever be able to fill that void. But I know you wouldn't return if you wanted too. Thank you for being such a awesome grandma to our babies and for all the love you gave. I promise to double up on the kisses and hugs for you to the babies. Look over them until we meet again, love
